For a lot of brides, getting that perfect, elegant flying veil shot is a must for their wedding day. We are here to warn you that not all veils possess the same flying power! So, if this epic shot is a must for your wedding album make sure to keep reading…

The lighter the veil the more it will fly!

We know that heavy beading, embroidery, and a lot of lace are very tempting when veil shopping… however if a flying veil photo is high on your list of wedding day poses, we'd suggest looking for something a little lighter!

The lighter your veil is the better chance we have of getting it airborne!

Go for off-white

Did you know that some veils can actually photograph blue?! Well, now you do…

A pure white veil can often appear blue, an error that is very difficult to edit out. Off-white, ivory, and creams are better for your bridal portraits.

Less is more

You may want layers of heavy tulle for that dramatic effect and, we agree, it looks incredible for your walk down the aisle! Unfortunately, it probably won't fly…

Aim for one layer of fabric, preferably in a light tulle (heavy tulle is a little more rigid), if you want to get those perfect flying veil shots.
